Business Plan Development

Having no plan is like sailing the seven seas without a compass, digging a ditch without a shovel, or hunting for pirate's treasure without an 'x' marks the spot.

There are around 11,000 businesses registered across the Cities of Cockburn and Melville; the challenge for the MCCC is ensuring it is known to these businesses as the premier hub for business information and engagement; an organisation of excellence in meeting the ever-changing needs of the business community in a proactive and responsive manner. This requirement to be responsive, timely and relevant means the MCCC is consistently reviewing its exiting services and initiating new ones.

As part of the MCCC standard reviewing processes every five year the Executive Committee undertakes a rigorous review of the previous five year plan and sets its strategic direction for the next five years. This process is currently underway with the new business plan due to be implemented by June 2010.

At the Executive Committee Meeting of 2 July 2009 the Committee appointed the following four members to form the Business Plan Development Committee (BPDC):

Chris Pearse (President)
Robert Reid (Secretary)
Anna Ward
Ron Steele
Richard Gordon

In late 2009 Brian Dickson was also appointed to the committee to assist in the processes of setting the vision, mission and strategic direction for the MCCC for the next 5 years. As with all business plans this is a living document which will under go constant review to ensure the MCCC remains relevant, effective and delivers a valuable product to its members. Once the framework of the plan is complete, a number of polls and short questionnaire will be bought online to facilitate feedback to assist us in ensuring the plan reflects the needs and wants of our membership.

Once completed the 'MCCC Business Plan 2010 to 2015' will be made available at Document Downloads.
