More than 140 business leaders, entrepreneurs, industry professionals, sponsors and community representatives came together at the South of Perth Yacht Club on 21 May for the 2026 MCCC Business Awards Gala Dinner.
The evening was a celebration of the innovation, leadership, resilience and business excellence that continues to shape the Melville and Cockburn region, recognising outstanding achievements across 14 award categories.
From emerging entrepreneurs and innovative technology businesses to hospitality, construction, sustainability and professional services, the Awards showcased the remarkable depth of talent within our local business community and highlighted the important role local businesses play in driving economic growth, creating employment opportunities and strengthening our region.
One of the standout moments of the evening saw local Cockburn business MetroCount Pty Ltd take home not one, but two awards, winning both the Innovation, Technology & Cyber Award and the coveted 2026 MCCC Business of the Year Award.
The Business of the Year Award represents the highest honour presented at the MCCC Business Awards, recognising exceptional business performance, leadership, innovation and sustained growth.

Before being crowned Business of the Year, MetroCount was recognised for excellence in innovation, technology and cyber, with Mike K. accepting the award from Mayor Logan Howlett on behalf of the City of Cockburn.
